The Order of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM) is the Order Pro Merito Melitensi, whose cross has different grades for the laity (civilians, women, military) and for ecclesiastics.
As a sovereign subject of international law the S.M.O.M does not require any authorisation for the use of relative honours.
