Foreign Diplomatic or Consular Agents in Italy are required to comply with the highway code, as well as with all the laws and regulations of the receiving State, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention (art. 41, paragraph 1). Nevertheless, infringements or breaches of the code will be assessed on a case by case basis, also based on the principle of reciprocity, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
