Both men’s and women’s clothing must be neat, well pressed and sober. On some occasions traditional dress or, for military officers, a uniform, is permitted; on other occasions there are precise rules for colours and the use of accessories such as gloves or hats.
In any case the type of clothing required is communicated in writing, on the invitation card, and may be day, evening or ceremonial wear:
