St Peter’s Dome was Michelangelo’s last great work, and was completed after his death by Giacomo della Porta. It is 136 metres in height, and about 43 metres in diameter.
The Dome can be visited in the following hours:
winter timetable: 8:00 – 17:00 (1 October – 31 March)
summer timetable: 8:00 – 18:00 (1 April – 30 September).
