Easy Diplomacy presents its Tourism Project

The conference “Investment Environment in Honduras” organized by the Embassy of Honduras in Italy at the Italian-Latin American Institute (IILA), was held in Rome. Event that brought together entrepreneurs, institutional representatives and High-Ranking Officials, with the aim of promoting a Strategic Investment Plan for this beautiful Country in Central America.
This initiative marked another step forward in the collaboration between Italy, Europe and Honduras, aimed at improving the perception of the Country and attracting tourist flows and investments.
Guest of honor H.E. Miguel MEDINA, Minister of Investment of the Republic of Honduras. The event, in the presence of the Ambassador of Honduras to Italy, H.E. Ernesto PUMPO, was attended on the Honduran side by José Manuel ZELAYA, Counsellor to the Presidency of the Republic of Honduras, former President of the National Chamber of Tourism, Epaminondas MARINAKYS, IILA’s Socioeconomic Secretary, Giselle CANAHUATI, and President of the Cortés Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karim Elyas Qubain KHAMIS. The event was also attended by the Deputy Director General for Global Affairs and Director Latin America and Caribbean of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Laura CARPINI, and Giampaolo RIZZO, Chief of Partnerships and Governance at IDLO.

Honduras’ Wonders: a Country of Infinite Potentialities
Honduras, located in Central America and with a population of about 10 million people, is a Country that fascinates with its history, culture and extraordinary landscapes. Bordered by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, it offers an exceptional range of attractions: from the pristine beaches of the Bay Islands to the ancient Mayan ruins of Copán, places where time seems to stand still.
Biodiversity is a strength of Honduras. The rainforests of Pico Bonito National Park, rich in rare species, are a paradise for nature and adventure enthusiasts, while the coral reefs off Roatán attract divers from around the world.
On a cultural level, the capital Tegucigalpa and cities such as Comayagua combine local traditions with Spanish colonial heritage, offering a unique charm.
Economically, Honduras has also made significant progress, making itself increasingly attractive to foreign investments. Sectors such as tourism, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, infrastructure and manufacturing are growing, consolidating Honduras as Country with endless potential.
Opportunities for Businesses and Investors
The recent Investment Plan presented at the event highlighted extraordinary opportunities for companies and investors looking at Central America as an emerging market.
Honduras emerges as a strategic hub for international trade due to its central location, skilled workforce and low production costs. The government, through targeted initiatives, aims to foster a stimulating business climate by offering tax incentives and strengthening economic stability.
Statements by Minister MEDINA and Ambassador PUMPO underscored the importance of a strategic approach to attracting investment from Europe, with a focus on bilateral relations with Italy. The willingness to increase the use of Italian technologies in the manifacturing sector was highlighted.
Concerning raw materials , Honduras stands out as the leading coffee producer in the Caribbean and Central America region. During the event, a new contract signed with a prestigious Italian company in the sector was celebrated, a tangible sign of economic cooperation between the two Countries.
Tourism as a Driver of Growth for Honduras
During the event, Minister MEDINA also presented investment opporutnities in the Honduran Tourism Industry, while former President of the National Chamber of Tourism, MARINAKYS, highlighted the current transformation in the Country from sustainable to regenerative tourism, aiming to improve the quality of life of the local population.
Honduras, already well known as a tourist destination, is at the beginning of a journey to tap its full potential, particularly towards the European market. With a growing appeal as a Caribbean and Latin American destination, Honduras aspires to consolidate itself as one of the most desired destinations in Central America, and Italy represents a particularly promising market for it.
The central theme of the meeting among Ms. Piermaria, Minister Medina, Marinakys, and Ambassador Pumpo was Easy Diplomacy’s Strategy focused on a Country Communication Plan aimed at positioning Honduras as a safe and attractive destination for Italian and European tourists and investors.
During the one-to-one meeting with Honduran High-Ranking Officials, Ms. Piermaria highlighted two levers of great potential, identified by Easy Diplomacy to rapidly promote the destination: business tourism, with particular attention to the “Bleisure” segment (business & leisure), and the visibility given by one of the most followed media events in Italy, L’Isola dei Famosi, filmed precisely in one of the beautiful Honduran islands (film tourism).
